Founded in 1908 as Wilhelmina, the club changed its name to that of its home district in Rotterdam in 1912. Feyenoord are giants of Dutch football, having won 15 Eredivisie titles (most recently in 2016-17) and 13 KNVB Cups. Although their record makes them the third most successful team in the Netherlands domestically (after Ajax and PSV) they have a slightly better record in Europe than their rivals from Eindhoven, as they have won two UEFA Cups (1974 and 2002) as well as one European Cup. They were actually the first Dutch team to win the European Cup with their success in the 1970 final against Celtic at the San Siro Stadium in Milan. Famous players who have played for Feyenoord at the De Kuip Stadium over the years include Wim Jansen, Rinus Israel, Wilhelm van Hanegem, Ruud Gullit, and Dirk Kuyt. Here at New Vintage Football we have re-created some of Feyenoord’s most famous shirts from 1960-2016.
