Only founded in 1970, PSG have in half a century gone on to become one of France’s most successful clubs. Despite their relatively short history, they hold the record for most consecutive seasons in the top flight, are by far the most successful team in the country by total trophies won, and are joint-second in terms of Ligue 1 titles won (only Saint-Etienne have claimed more championships). Seven of their Ligue 1 titles have come since the 2012-13 season. Four of those seasons have been doubles, as they have also added to their record 13 Coupes de France. They are also one of only two French teams to win a European trophy – the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1996. The Parisiens, led by star players Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, were also runners-up in the 2020 Champions League. Here at New Vintage Football we have re-created some of PSG’s most famous shirts from 1982-2015, as worn by such stars as Rai, Ronaldinho, Claude Makelele, Thiago Silva, Edinson Cavani, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
