Giants of Italian football, Associazione Calcio Milan are Italy’s most successful club in European competition, their total of seven European Cups/Champions Leagues is second only to Real Madrid. In the 1961-62 season they became the first Italian team to win the European Cup. Domestically, they have won 18 league titles, the joint-second-highest total in the country, and five Coppas Italia. They share their stadium, the San Siro, with fierce rivals Inter Milan, with whom they contest the world famous Milan derby. AC Milan were founded in 1899 by Englishmen Albert Edwards and Herbert Kilpin, which explains why they have the cross of St George in their badge, and why they use the English spelling of their home city in their name (Milan instead of Milano). Milan have spent their entire history in Serie A, with the exception of two years in the early ‘80s. By the late ‘80s, under the management of Arrigo Sacchi, they were champions of Italy and Europe again, establishing a dominance that lasted well into the 1990s. Here at New Vintage Football we have re-created some of the Rossoneri’s most famous shirts from 1962-2012, as worn by legends such as Jose Altafini, Gianni Rivera, Marco van Basten, Ruud Gullit, Frank Rijkaard, Franco Baresi, Alessandro Costacurta, Paolo Maldini, Kaka, Andrea Pirlo, Filippo Inzaghi, and Andriy Shevchenko.
