Founded by Edinburgh’s Irish community in 1875, Hibs’ record of four league titles places them joint third (with Aberdeen and local rivals Hearts) in the list of most Scottish championships won. Three of those four championships were inspired by their “Famous Five” forward line in the period 1948-52. They were also the first British team to play in the European Cup, being knocked out in the semi-finals of the inaugural competition in the 1955-56 season. The Hibees have tasted Scottish Cup glory on three occasions, although they had to endure a 114 year wait between their second and third cup triumphs (1902 and 2016). They have also won the Scottish League Cup three times (1972, 1991, and 2007). Here at New Vintage Football we have re-created some of Hibs’ most famous shirts from 1957-2017.
